In Miles we stop in at the finest historical village in Queensland and take a dip in the soothing waters of the Mitchell Artesian Spa. We have a beer at more than one beaut pub and go star gazing under a crystal clear sky in Charleville and check out a very different caravan park.
In Quilpie we checkout a bloke who licks stones before heading off to cross Cooper Creek and arrive at the yabbie races at Windorah.
Arriving in Birdsville we cruise out to the dustiest and most distant racetrack in Australia for the running of the famous Birdsville Cup. Finally we take a short drive out of town at sunrise to the edge of the Simpson Desert to the sand dune known as Big Red.

We visit an air show and get blown away by the skills of the pilots, see a sheep shearing demonstration and admire some beautifully restored cars. Up around Gulgong we visit the Henry Lawson centre for some good old Aussie culture, check out the amazing Pioneers museum and get spun out over some bamboo and Merino yarn.
In the gold country we see the stunning collections at History Hill at Hill End, visit some wonky buildings in Sofala and have a beer at the Windeyer pub. And in the Kandos and Rylstone area we visit the world's second largest canyon, watch an olive harvest at work and get stuck in at a bush camp barbie.
